Abstract

Virtual reality (VR) has emerged as a transformative technology in various fields, and education is no exception. This paper examines the evolution of VR in education, its impact on teaching and learning, and its potential for revolutionizing traditional educational models. Over the years, VR has transitioned from a niche technology to an innovative tool for creating immersive learning experiences. This article explores how VR enhances student engagement, supports experiential learning, and addresses the challenges faced by traditional educational methods. Despite its promise, the integration of VR in education faces significant challenges, such as high costs, technical barriers, and resistance from educators. This paper also discusses the future directions of VR in education, highlighting the need for further technological advancements and policy frameworks to ensure the widespread adoption of VR in classrooms. The findings suggest that, with continued innovation and effective implementation, VR can significantly enhance educational outcomes, making learning more interactive, inclusive, and accessible.
