Licence information belongs with the article
Published articles should display the applicable licence and reuse terms on the article record. Authors and readers should rely on the licence shown for the specific publication.
Attribution and third-party material
Where an article is published under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0), reuse is permitted subject to attribution and the licence terms. Material credited to a third party may be subject to separate permission requirements and is not automatically relicensed merely because it appears within an open-access article.
Author responsibility
Authors must secure permission for copyrighted figures, tables, images or substantial material where required and must provide correct source attribution.
